PU Finish - 2K Matte Water-Based Polyurethane Finish for Roller Application
2K polyurethane clear coat for roller application
- Suitable as a protective layer on PU Design, Microcement, Concrete Effect etc.
- Applied by roller
- Produces a smooth, seamless, mirror-smooth, matte finish
- Consumption Volume: approx. 0.45 fl.oz./sqft per coat (we recommend 2 coats)
- Walkable / further coating after approx. 16 h, fully loadable after approx. 4 days (at +70 °F)
- Scope of delivery: Resin component A, hardener component B
1. Select quantity (sqft) for 1 coat

Application Instructions
1. Prepare substrate
The substrate must be sound, dry, clean, and capable of supporting loads, with adequate tensile and compressive strength. Dust, oil, grease, and curing compounds must be removed using appropriate surface preparation methods).
Application should be carried out at 60-85 °F (room and substrate temperature) and a maximum relative humidity of 70 %.
2. Apply PU Finish for a matte finish
- To mix, pour the entire contents of PU Finish Component B into the container of PU Finish Component A and mix thoroughly.
- Apply the material thinly and in a crosshatch pattern using a paint roller and brush. First paint laterally to the light source, then wet-on-wet in the direction of the light to avoid visible brush marks.
Important: Especially inside the shower and in areas with permanent water contact, we recommend applying our PU Finish exclusively with a brush (e.g. 3.9 in width) in a crosshatch pattern to fully close all pores. For heavily textured surfaces outside the wet area, a brush should also be used (and not a paint roller). We recommend two coats. - Allow the material to cure for at least 16 hours, then apply the second coat.
- Allow the material to cure for 48 hours after the second coat. Inside the shower and in areas with permanent water contact, allow 7 days to cure before the coating comes into contact with water.
3. Important Notes
When sealing microcement, Concrete Effect, and other open-pored and textured surfaces, we recommend, especially inside the shower and in areas with permanent water contact, applying our PU Finish exclusively with a brush (e.g. 3.9 in width) in a crosshatch pattern to fully close all pores. For heavily textured surfaces outside the wet area, a brush should also be used (and not a paint roller). We recommend two coats.
Application & Substrates
PU Finish is suitable as a matte clear coat. The matte finish improves scratch resistance. The coating is vapor-tight and compatible with underfloor heating. This makes it ideal for almost all rigid substrates.

Properties & Limitations
The coating provides slip resistance class in the range of R9 and is designed for indoor use. After curing, the surface has light to medium mechanical load resistance, meaning it is suitable for schools, retail spaces, offices, museums, apartments, etc. The material is not freeze-resistant and not suitable for outdoor use.
